 Late Edition

1995 bay  15.3H

Cryptoclearance   Starlet Storm x Storm Bird

Late Edition was raised and raced by Overbrook Farm in Kentucky. He was trained by D Wayne Lukas. After winning a $32,000 MSW at Churchill Downs in his second start as a two year old, he went on as a three year old to place second to Sea of Secrets in the San Vicente (G2) at Santa Anita and third in the Gotham (G3) at Aqueduct. He was injured during his three year old campaign and set back for a year.  He had the heart and will to come back at five and six for two wins, three seconds, and two thirds.

He is a half brother to US Champion Flanders.

He was purchased by Osborne Farm in 2002.

Late Edition is passing on his speed and stamping his foals with his exceptional conformation and even temperament.

One for the records!

At Canterbury Park on Sunday, July 13, 2008 four Late Edition fillies were entered in Race 1 - #1 Most Useful, #8 Canterbury Rose, #9 Bubbly Bubbles, and #10 Storybook Doll. All four were raised by Osborne Farm and sold through the MTA Yearling Sales.  Each listed under a different owner and each under a different trainer, all four Late Edition fillies were out in front coming into the stretch, captured in the photo above  - the call was #10,#1, #9 and #8!  Which one would be the winner? Storybook Doll said her goodbyes to her past stable mates and headed to the wire to win by 7 3/4 lengths, followed by Most Useful for second, Bubbly Bubbles for third and Canterbury Rose taking sixth. What a thrill to see all four Late Edition/Osborne Farm fillies do so well that day!
